PMMA Parts CNC Processing

 Acrylic , commonly known as PMMA, consists of Polymethyl methacrylate which is high molecular polymer. Characterized by transparency and toughness, this material can be made in form of plate, bar and pipe for various purposes.

In industry, PMMA can be used as a equipment protective cover and an electrostatic isolation board due to its transparency and toughness. It finds wide application in work fixture for electronic equipment and automation equipment. As certain amount of masterbatch being added, PMMA can me made for organic glass in colors such as black, tea and others.

On the surface of PMMA, electrostatic can be acquired through coating technology so that it can meet special requirement needed in high-tech industry. Electrostatic property can be maintained for long time and immune to humidity, surface resistance is 10 - 10Ω with excellent electrostatic property. It also has excellent optical and wear-resistance property as well as good roughness and scratch resistance property. It resists against chemical solvent with low gas volatility. It finds wide application in no-dust room, sight glass cover, electronic testing tool and other tools.

As tough as it is, efforts can be made to make sure that edges and angles of PMMA not be moved during CNC processing. To make surface smooth and transparent, PMMA needs to be properly polished or use hot blow torch to fire it to meet the standard. Its circular arc face and other special shapes can be made by use of mould. Using high temperature, areas need to be bend or distorted can be achieved and then tightened them with inside and outside mould to make required shapes.
